the dawn, renewed horizon
a life built on tomorrows
resistant to change, or welcome difference
two arms move in a circle, wave a warning
concentric circles, ripples of my indifference
on pointless thoughts i swither
but like this symbol stone, let me be shaped by
water, fault and incident
reflect on dulling detail
and learning how to bravely alter
old suffering will forge new fortune
calloused hands, applauding overcoming
it mattered at the time, treacherous turning faces
but past defections of loved ones will not shake my faith
distance and silence between
a will to fill the void with iridescent opal
and colour our lives in its diffracted spectrum
mysterious yet pure, i hold it out to you
reaching, healing
in kind arms that envelop as a womb
protect this flickering glow and the promise that keeps us
capricorn, transported through my optic nerve
repel this fog with a brilliant light
you'll ponder on the where, when and how
but with two hands we're drawing a circle
with this timeline around us, like a catherine wheel
it sparks to signpost a galaxy we've borne with the oldest energy
-immeasurably, indefinably ours - that which heals, elates,
inspires and mercifully holds
return to where it all began and celebrate
two hearts beat in time, two paths align
we simply call it the bubble
stirring up all the stardust inside you, i'll recite the lines
"the snap, the clank, the creak and moan..."
as much as you are in my heart

with no imagined end, unborn tomorrows
uncertain what to strive for, when what i want is what i had
and i am done
gazing o'er choppy waters
before these views were gaps
a mother smiles, as a hand waves back
then in a flicker, there's less to see
i will rebuild my mind
this memory is a dream revived
as i scoop up the sand, it tumbles like time
my only future, it beckons and tugs
uncertain what to strive for, when what i want is what i had
and i am
i'm certain, what i strive for will be my own
a way to a life and my
strength in time will return

sifting through the whins
scratching at my legs
kinnaird sees my history
a bencher, a bottle, a friend
tiger hill, heelflips and open minds
laying by the marram
heads and bodies in time
now and then we look up
gazing the rose hue sky
tiger hill, heelflips and open minds
your glow
shimmering
waiting for me
for the memories
for the time well spent
for helping to heal
and letting me be
for little journeys
for open ears and welcoming arms
for treatment and reflection
i am grateful
released to stir another soul
purpose fulfilled, i let you go
i have to let you go
purpose fulfilled, i have to let you go
